Mtskheta Half-Day UNESCO Tour

Half-day trip to the ancient capital of Georgia and its three UNESCO-listed monuments — Jvari, Svetitskhoveli and Samtavro.

1 day easy May–October From €65

About this tour

Mtskheta was Georgia’s royal capital until the 5th century and remains the spiritual heart of the country. The tour starts at Jvari Monastery on a windy hill overlooking the meeting of two rivers — the founding scene of Georgian Christianity. We then descend to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the eleventh-century burial place of Georgian kings, and walk the cobbled old town. Optional stop at the small Samtavro convent.

A half-day round-trip from Tbilisi, paired well with afternoons in the city.
