Batumi is Georgia's coastal capital — a sub-tropical port with a 7 km seafront boulevard, an old quarter of pre-Soviet Italianate buildings, and a contemporary skyline rebuilt during the 2010s. This four-day route combines a relaxed two-night stay in Batumi (with sea views, a botanical garden, and the Argo cable car for sunsets) with a day trip into Mtirala National Park — a humid mixed-forest reserve that receives more rainfall than almost any other point in the Caucasus. We add the option of a half-day in Kutaisi on the return drive.

    Tbilisi → Batumi

    Long drive west across Georgia (about 6 hours with stops). Lunch in Kutaisi, brief stop at Bagrati Cathedral. Arrive in Batumi by early evening, dinner on the boulevard.

    Batumi city day

    Walking tour of old Batumi: the Italian quarter, Piazza, Europe Square. Afternoon at the Botanical Garden (south of the city). Sunset on the Argo cable car at Anuria.

    Mtirala National Park

    Half-day excursion to Mtirala — a humid relict forest with waterfalls and a small lake. Walk the lower interpretive trail (about 4 km, easy). Return to Batumi for a free afternoon on the beach.

    Batumi → Tbilisi

    Drive back to Tbilisi (about 6 hours) with a lunch stop. Optional half-day in Kutaisi (Gelati or Prometheus Cave) before continuing east. Airport drop-off.
